Married: Melinda & Bryan

This was the best wedding to bring in our 2009 wedding season! Melinda, Byran and both of their families are just so sweet! I just can’t say enough about their beautiful ceremony, or how accommodating and thoughtful the family was to us. Thank you Melinda and Bryan! We hope you have a wonderful time in Jamaica!

Melinda and Bryan were married at Garden in the Woods in Albany Oregon. This was our first time shooting at this particular venue, and it is now one of our favorites. Not only are the grounds beautiful and provide different types of backdrops for photos, but the owners are great to work with. You don’t always find both of those great qualities in a venue, but I guarantee if you are looking for an outdoor venue, you will not be let down by Garden in the Woods.

Florist: Thistle Dew Farms

Caterer: Cornucopia

Dress shop: Bridal Gallery in Salem Oregon (love the owners!)

A big Thank you to Jessica for accompanying us on this wedding as our wonderful assistant!

We thought it only fitting to begin this 2009 wedding season with a huge post! Enjoy all the images!

Thistle Dew did a fantastic job on the floral arrangements!

I got this moment between Melinda and one of her bridesmaids. Melinda had the GREATEST bridal party ever!

As you can see from this image.

So sweet. One of Melinda’s sisters is looking at her from behind.

I shot about 5 frames so I could capture this image below. We never ask a bride or groom to re-create moments like these. We place a lot of value in documenting these fleeting and memorable moments as they happen.

When I shot this I didn’t think I got the shot I wanted, but once I pulled this up on my computer, I was in love with this image! I love every thing about it, from just part of her face showing, to only her delicately manicured fingernail in focus. Thank you Melinda, for including us in this memorable time.

While I was off with the girls, Paul was documenting the guys getting ready. This is his fantastic shot of the groom’s Dad putting on his tie, with Bryan (the groom) in the background.

Melinda and Bryan opted for a first look, which gave us tons of time for bride and groom photos.

Paul caught this great image of the first look! I love how both of them are smiling.

The ground was covered in those sticky weed things (you Northwesterners will know what I am talking about), but it gave us such a beautiful backdrop!

I saw this shot as I was taking pictures of the bridal party. Melinda was just standing there, and it looked like the most perfect shot. I also have to say that her dress is one of my favs! It’s so beautiful!

Her dress “folded” at the hem and tucked under her dress. Just beautiful.

Paul is always the genius behind the bridal party shots.

Little details from the ceremony and reception:

They gave their guests chocolate covered hazelnuts and other assorted candy for favors. Melinda’s family owns a hazelnut farm in Veneta, so it held a little bit of meaning.

After the ceremony we walked over to this grass field. The lighting wasn’t the redish yellow light, but I liked the softness of the sunset for these shots better.

This was taken as he was helping her in to the grass. Again…very sweet.
